Ispagula or Psyllium powder

Ispaghula powder, also known as Psyllium, is a type of soluble fiber (80%) that is non-fermentable that comes from the species Plantago ovata. Psyllium generally refers to the husk of the plant’s seed (“husk”).

The powder is obtained from the grinding of the shell. This fiber, when taken along with water, causes it to increase in volume, forming a soft gel that helps soften hard stools in constipation.
The WHO (World Health Organization) and the EMA (European Medicines Agency) recommend its consumption to combat constipation.

Numerous studies suggest that, in addition to improving intestinal transit, it contributes to improving intestinal function, maintaining a healthy intestine and can also help control blood cholesterol levels.

By way of summary:

  • Helps control blood cholesterol levels.
  • Contributes to intestinal transit and intestinal function.
  • Helps maintain a healthy intestine and facilitate intestinal transit.
Dandelion Extract

The leaves and root of the Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) have numerous medicinal properties. They are rich in vitamins A, K, C, and B complex, minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and iron, and nutritional substances such as inulin, lecithin, and choline.

Traditionally, the roots of this herb are employed to help improve digestion and as a liver tonic by stimulating bile production, as well as restoring the hydration of the mucous membranes of the small intestine and the balance of electrolytes.

Dandelion is a powerful prebiotic, i.e. nutrient for beneficial bacteria in the gut microflora. It also exerts a slight stimulating effect on the muscles of the digestive system, which favors better intestinal transit.

In short:

  • Stimulates digestion.
  • Contributes to the normal functioning of the stomach and liver.
  • Contributes to the functions of the intestinal tract.
  • Helps balance the physiological pH of the stomach.
  • Contributes to gastrointestinal well-being due to its prebiotic effect.
  • It has a beneficial effect on cholesterol values.
Frankincense Tree Extract or Boswellia Serrata

Boswellia serrata extract (or frankincense tree) is a species of plant native to India and the Middle East. It is a potential anti-inflammatory that has been traditionally used in folk medicine to treat various chronic inflammatory diseases. Its active component, boswellic acid, is extracted from the resin of the tree.

In Ayurveda, Boswellia serrata is used to reduce various health problems such as joint pain, inflammation, and respiratory problems (asthma).

Boswellic acid is a pentacyclic triterpene naturally produced from Boswellia. It is an active compound that has been shown to have beneficial effects on health. It is capable of inhibiting inflammatory enzymes and inflammatory cytokines, which is why its application is used in chronic inflammations.

It has an antioxidant, soothing and protective effect on the mucous membranes.

  • Digestive protector.
  • Intestinal soothing.
  • It can help maintain the lining of the digestive system.
  • Supports mental health.
  • Helps keep blood cholesterol at healthy levels.
  • Supports heart function.
  • Supports lung health.
  • Supports menstrual health.
  • Supports male sexual health.
Irish Moss Powder

It is a lichen (between an algae and a fungus that live together and that allows it to resist extreme temperatures). It was widely used in the nineteenth century in Ireland when there was a famine, and it is also used as a thickener in food.

It has a high content of carrageenan (a type of gelatinous oligosaccharides), which give it a mucilaginous consistency which can help act as a soothing and protective agent for all mucous membranes.

Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera belongs to the aloe genus, with more than 350 species. The plant has been used since ancient times in traditional medicine in many countries. From the plant, aloe is obtained, which is extracted by making cuts in the skin of the fresh leaf, and aloe gel, which is obtained from the pulp of aloe leaves.

The quality and effectiveness of aloe gel is thanks to its polysaccharide content. Among its main functions, it supports gastrointestinal health and the maintenance of intestinal functions. This gastroprotective property is due to its anti-inflammatory capacity.

Aloe vera gel:

  • Support gastrointestinal health.
  • Helps support digestion.
  • Maintenance of bowel functions.
  • Helps promote bowel regularity.
  • Helps bowel function.
  • Contributes to bowel movements.
  • Supports regular bowel.

Flax Powder

Flax (Linum Usitatissimum) is a herbaceous plant in the Linaceae family. Its stem is used to make cloth and its seed, called flaxseed, is used to extract oil and flour (flax powder).

Flaxseeds are high in soluble fiber and lignans, which contain phytoestrogens. They are also rich in an omega 3, alpha linolenic acid, or better known as ALA. The ALA obtained from the diet is a precursor of EPA and DHA. However, its conversion is practically insufficient and to obtain DHA, it is more effective to consume oily fish or take a dietary supplement of Omega 3 fatty acids.

Among the benefits of flax powder:

  • Traditionally used to facilitate digestion.
  • Helps to promote digestion.
  • Helps promote digestion.
  • Contributes to digestive comfort.
  • Breast Health/Maintains healthy condition of breast tissue.
  • The lignans present in Linum usitatissimum offer benefits in intestinal function.
  • Helps maintain normal bowel function.
  • Contributes to the regularity of bowel function.
  • The lignans present in Linum usitatissimum have estrogenic properties and may therefore offer benefits for menopausal health.
  • Helps maintain weight.
  • Contributes to weight loss in addition to dietary measures.
  • Helps reduce appetite.
  • Promotes the feeling of satiety after meals.
  • Promotes a feeling of fullness and satiety.
  • Helps to reduce caloric intake.
  • Increases the volume of the stool.
  • Promotes intestinal peristalsis.
Chia Seed Powder

Chia is a very small seed, but it contains several properties such as omega 3, fiber, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, among others.

It is a good source of fibre, mainly insoluble fibre, which is that which does not absorb water and passes through the digestive system, favouring the regulation of intestinal transit and the maintenance of beneficial bacterial flora.

Magnesium

Magnesium (Mg) is essential and has a very important role in the structure and function of the human body. An adult’s body contains about 25 grams of magnesium. More than 60% of all magnesium present in the body is found in the skeleton, and about 27% in the muscles. It also has a very important function at the nervous level.

Sources legumes, cereals, green leafy vegetables, wheat bran, soybean flour, almonds, cashews, cane molasses, pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, and walnuts.

Magnesium contributes to:

  • to electrolyte balance.
  • to reduce tiredness and fatigue.
  • to normal energy metabolism.
  • to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
  • to the normal functioning of the muscles.
  • to normal protein synthesis.
  • to normal psychological function.
  • to the maintenance of bones in normal conditions.
  • to the maintenance of teeth in normal conditions.
  • to the process of cell division.

Additional information

Because we can have slow bowel movements and gas production in our intestine

A diet rich in fiber such as vegetables and fruit, as well as whole grains and seeds such as chia, flax, as well as nuts can contribute to improving intestinal transit. It should be noted that fruit consumption is among the recommended dietary strategies for constipation due to its possible effects on the gut microbiota and intestinal motility.

It is equally important to drink enough water so that the fiber in the intestine spongs and allows water to enter between its fibers favoring the fluidity of the bolus, otherwise the fiber dries out could reduce transit. Magnesium, for example, helps to capture water.

On the other hand, depending on the type of food we eat, we will favor the proliferation of different intestinal bacteria. Thus, for example, an excess in the consumption of proteins can favor putrefactive bacteria and an excess of carbohydrates favors fermentative bacteria. Fermentative bacteria, when created, produce gas that can often cause pain.

Prebiotics are the foods of good bacteria that contribute to a healthy microbiome.

Active Fibra Inteligente contains a complex of several medicinal plants such as Dandelion (the root), Ispagula (seed cuticle), Aloe vera (pulp powder), Garcinia cambogia (fruit peel), Boswelia Serrata (resin), Icelandic moss (whole lichen powder). Each of these plants, in addition to their medicinal properties, provides a different form of fiber. All together they create a synergy with a powerful nutritious-prebiotic effect. It also contains the mucilage and nutrients that come from ground chia and flax seeds. In addition, it provides magnesium in its bioavailable form, essential for a good electrolyte balance.
