Food intolerance can be the result of an adverse reaction of the body to certain foods. It is less easy to detect than food allergy and its pathological manifestations are usually less clear.

When we talk about a Food Intolerance, the person may have a “sensitivity” – not an allergy – to certain foods.

Food Detective^TM is a rapid test that in 40 minutes we can know the foods that cause intolerance. It is a test that you can take in your office or at the pharmacy. You no longer have to wait for weeks to receive the results of the analysis laboratory.

Food Detective^TM measures the 59 IgG reaction of very common foods; A small drop of blood obtained by pricking the finger is enough, diluted and added to the reaction plate containing small wells in the protein extracts of food. In subsequent steps, a detector solution and a revealing solution are used to identify the presence of antibodies to the food by the appearance of one or more blue dots on the plaque. The result is compared with the food reference table included in the instructions, in this way, the foods to which it is intolerant are identified.

What is analyzed?

• Cereals: corn, semolina (durum wheat), gluten, oats, rice, wheat, rye.
• Nuts and legumes: almond, Brazil nut, cashew, legume mix (beans, lentils, beans), walnuts, peanuts, soybeans, cocoa.
• Meats: beef, chicken, lamb, pork.
• Fish: Freshwater fish mix (salmon, trout), seafood mix (shrimp, shrimp, crab, lobster, mussels), tuna, white fish mix (pollock, cod, flounder).
• Vegetables: broccoli, cabbage (cabbage), carrot, leek, celery, cucumber, pepper mix (red, green, yellow), potato.

For each unit of Food Detective^TM includes:

• 2 sterile single-use lancets to perform finger prick
• Glass or plastic capillary tube.
• Reaction plate or tray (packed in an aluminum bag).
• 1 Disinfectant Wipe.
• 1 Band-aid (dressing).
• Solution A – Red cap; Diluent solution 5 ml.
• Solution B- Blue cap; 5 ml detector solution.
• Solution C- Black cap; Developer solution 5 ml.
• Solution D- White cap, 2 bottles of washing solution 100 ml.

The Food Detective^TM relative sensitivity and specificity study was evaluated in relation to the detection of positive IgG reactions (>12 U/mL) and negative IgG reactions (<12 U/mL) of 93 foods based on an Elisa microplate.

The kit should be stored at room temperature.
